Unable to sign up on Grab App

When first starting on the grab app on my iPhone 13 mini IOS 17.3 I have entered my mobile number on the 'Get Started" screen and hit "Next" for a verification through WhatsApp. I receive a pop-up that reads "This operation couldn't be completed. (NetworkKitInterfaces.NKError error 1.) Any idea what I am doing wrong? I am in US trying to sign in for Grab in anticipation of a trip to Singapore.

Hey friend!

So Grab can only be set up when you’re physically located in the country you’re wanting to use it in. Hit the same wall when trying to set it for my Malasiyan trip.

A very easy fix is that you try to install when using a VPN (I used PIA, seemed to work for me) - and that should have you going in no time at all.
