Sony wh-1000mx5 after receiving phone call on phone, MacOS loses headphone microphone as input

What happens

  • My WH-1000 MX5s are connected via bluetooth to my iPhone & MacOS at the same time
    • *Doesn't matter if audio is coming from iPhone or MacOS
  • Receive a phone call on phone
    • *I have disabled receiving phone calls on laptop bc of this issue
  • Whether I silence / decline the call, headphone volume gets softer to indicate there is a call
  • After call decline, MacOS no longer sees WH-1000 MX-5 as microphone input
  • To get it back, I have to power off/on headphones

Expected

  • Receiving calls does not cause MacOS to lose headphone mic as an input

What I've tried

  • Disabled incoming phone calls on MacOS / FaceTime (helps some situations)
  • Updated MacOS / headphones to latest software / firmware

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15
