Wacom Software x OS Sonoma 14.3? Why is Wacom Center unresponsive?
Does anyone know if the Wacom tablet drivers are working properly with this OS version? I am running a 2023 16 Inch MacBook Pro with a Wacom Cintiq 22HD. I haven't used my Cintiq with this MacBook yet, and now I have a project that I can really use it for, but I'm not able to get it working properly. I can put the pen to the tablet and it will move my cursor, but it will not bring the cursor to the pen tip. The Cintiq works perfectly at the moment with my 2017 15 Inch MacBook pro running on macOS Catalina (great, but I want to get this setup on my new laptop finally). Before reaching out to support, I tried to do my own troubleshooting. Wacom Center and Wacom Tablet on the sidebar in my System Settings are unresponsive, and freeze my settings a bit. Sometimes it requires a force quit.
If I open Wacom Center through my applications, a window pops up that says "Waiting for Synchronization" for a few moments, until it ultimately says, "The tablet driver is not responding. Please restart Wacom Center. If that does not work, please contact Customer Support, and we can help." Restarting does not do anything. Wacom support told me to remove Wacom items in the accessibility settings and restart my laptop. That didn't work. So, I tried to uninstall everything. Uninstalling through the Wacom Tablet Utility doesn't work either. When I click uninstall it gives me the stuck beach ball that ends up needing to be forced quit out of. So I ended up manually trashing any Wacom item in my finder. I went to my Privacy and Security settings, and no Wacom items are listed in any of those settings now.
Clean slate, or so I believe at least.
I go to the Wacom site and download the latest driver and install it. I didn't get any security or settings prompts after installation, with bringing the pen near the tablet, or anything. The pen works as I described before, still not properly. Loading up the Wacom Center still does not work as it says there is no tablet connected. I check my accessibility settings and since installing there are no Wacom items in there. So, I manually added them, but that didn't change anything either.
I'm not sure what I can do at this point but ask questions that might be ridiculous.
Do certain USB-C inputs on this MacBook only work with specific devices/outputs?
Did I not properly wipe the files from my computer before reinstalling?
Do I need to upgrade my dongles or something? They work just fine with the pen display and my other Mac.
Am I missing something?
