turn off audio notifications
When using Apple TV I get audio notifications of every keystroke on the remote. Very annoying. I can’t turn it off

Okay. It seems I misunderstood your issue initially.
Having the menu options read out loud is an Accessibility Setting called “VoiceOver”.
VoiceOver can be turned on and off in Settings﹥Accessibility﹥VoiceOver﹥VoiceOver﹥…
Or you may ask Siri to turn off VoiceOver.
VoiceOver may have been activated accidentally through the Accessibility Shortcut: triple-click Menu or Back. Repeating that action would revert to the previous setting.
The Accessibility Shortcut allows users to activate a chosen set of accessibility settings at once. This can be configured in Settings﹥Accessibility﹥Accessibility Shortcut﹥… Unchecking all 9 functions for this, would deactivate the shortcut (and thus prevent accidental activation).
