Camera still over-sharpening front-facing photos despite previous “fixes”

This has been addressed in previous discussions but I’ve found the solution arrived at before doesn’t work for me…

Since updating to a newer iPhone I’ve found that photos, especially front-facing photos, are self-correcting to by a little too high in definition. My skin looks extra splotchy and shiny, and though I don’t have perfect skin, it’s definitely exaggerated. The photo looks fine in viewfinder beforehand, then once I snap it, not so great.

Previous forums have pointed out that going into “Settings” > “Photos” > and turning off “View Full HDR” can solve the issue… But it didn’t for me.

Strangely enough going into “Settings” > “Camera” > “Formats” and turning on ProRAW Resolution Control actually helped somewhat. It seems to have stopped that self-correct the photo does after being taken. But if I then switch to a third-party app, like Instagram, the auto-correction returns.

I’m wondering if there is another, better solution?
