Then it's time to purchase a newer, more modern iPhone. You will NEVER be able to run anything higher than the most current version of iOS 12 on an iPhone 6.
Your iPhone 6 is not able to update to iOS 15. Its hardware is simply too old. To get a higher iOS, you will need to buy a new or newer iPhone.

Saying "yess" and "please" won't' make it happen.
The iPhone 6 is too old and outdated. It will never run iOS 13 or higher.
how to update
A hardware upgrade (replacing the iPhone 6) is in order.
Any upgrade of this sort would be at your expense – unless, say, you had a generous relative who is able and willing to buy you a newer phone as a present.
Apple won't give you any trade-in credit for an iPhone 6.
They might, however, recycle it for free.
iPhone models compatible with iOS 17 - Apple Support
I would suggest shopping for a phone that is on the iOS 17 compatibility list. If you buy a newer phone
for which iOS 15 is the end of the line, and apps start requiring iOS 16 or higher (as the Netflix app and
some Microsoft apps already do), you may find that you did not upgrade your iPhone hardware enough
to solve your app compatibility problem.

I want my to update
No update to iOS 13 or higher for the iPhone 6.
Wanting to update the version of iOS on the phone won't change that. The iPhone 6 originally shipped with iOS 8, which implies that it got updates to iOS 9, 10, 11, and 12. That's the end of the line for the iPhone 6.
If iOS 12 is now too outdated for the apps you want to run, what that tells you is that it is time to buy a new phone.
An iPhone 6/6 plus can't be updated beyond 12.5.7, it doesn't have the hardware required to run anything higher.
If you need a higher iOS version, you will have to purchase a newer phone.

There are 5 pages in this thread that all say that the iPhone 6 cannot be updated to iOS 15.
iOS 12.5.7 was the last and final update for the iPhone 6. No more updates.
If you want to run iOS 15, you will need an iPhone 7.
If you want to run iOS 16, you will need an iPhone 8.
There is no software support for the iPhone 5s, the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus as it had ended 1 year and 4 months ago (23 Jan 2023)
No.

iOS 12.5.7 is the end of the line version for the iPhone 6. It can’t be updated beyond that. You must purchase a newer iPhone (XR or later) in order to receive new iOS updates.

Did you read this one page thread? If you did, then you already know the answer. If you have an iPhone 6, you don't update to iOS 15, because you CAN'T update an iPhone 6 any higher than iOS 12.
Buy a newer phone if you need iOS 15.
You can update an iPhone 6 as far as the latest release of iOS 12 – but no further.

What does that even mean? If you have an iPhone 6 and you need anything higher than iOS 12.5.8, then you need to retire your 10 year old iPhone and buy a newer, more modern iPhone.
