• If you have an iPhone 5S or 6/6plus, the highest you can update to is 12.5.7

• If you have an iPhone 6S through 7, or SE 1st generation, you can update to 15.8.2

• If you have an iPhone 8 or X, you can update to 16.7.7

• If you have an iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), or XR through 15, you can update to 17.4.1

Saying "yess" and "please" won't' make it happen.

The iPhone 6 is too old and outdated. It will never run iOS 13 or higher.

how to update

A hardware upgrade (replacing the iPhone 6) is in order.

Any upgrade of this sort would be at your expense – unless, say, you had a generous relative who is able and willing to buy you a newer phone as a present.

Apple Trade In - Apple

Apple won't give you any trade-in credit for an iPhone 6.

They might, however, recycle it for free.

iPhone models compatible with iOS 17 - Apple Support

I would suggest shopping for a phone that is on the iOS 17 compatibility list. If you buy a newer phone

for which iOS 15 is the end of the line, and apps start requiring iOS 16 or higher (as the Netflix app and

some Microsoft apps already do), you may find that you did not upgrade your iPhone hardware enough

to solve your app compatibility problem.

If you are thinking about buying a used iPhone from someone other than Apple, read this first. You

should be careful, so that you get a useful phone, rather than an Activation-Locked "brick".

No, the iPhone 6 cannot be updated to iOS 15. The highest iOS version it supports is iOS 12.5.7. For more information on iOS compatibility, visit [Apple's official support page](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209574).

Since they posted their question over 6 months ago, they've most assuredly gotten the message by now. It helps if you look at the date of a post before you respond to someone.
