logic pro x scroll in play

I have tried the view menu and selecting scroll in play but this doesn't seem to enable the playhead to scroll automatically as the song plays; can anyone assist?

Sounds like you are referring to the Catch Playhead feature. Make sure in Settings>General>Catch all modes are checked.

Also if for some reason it isn't turning on, you can click on the catch playhead button or use a keyboard shortcut to activate. I set mine for F5 to activate the Catch feature. For the most part, it does automatically turn on. Also there are 2 areas you can activate. One in the tracks area and the other in the editor. Unfortunately turning it on in one window dosen't turn on the other.
