How to disable changing wallpapers from lockscreen?

After updating my new 13 mini phone to IOS 16 in summer, I realized that the lock screen has undergone wonderful improvements - we could finally customize it and add various widgets and that’s great! But every tap on the screen ends with changing wallpapers. What for does such a function exist? If we want to change wallpaper, we can go to settings and change it. I doubt that everybody wants to change their wallpapers every time they wake up the screen. This uncontrollable feature can’t be turned off and is always being activated accidentally. Always!

I have googled and noticed that I am not the only one who suffers from such an innovation in the system and the feature is still the same in the latest 17th version. Could you please be so kind as to advise - what can we do to get through and ask the developers to disable this feature in next IOS update? Thank you in advance.

Yes, tap-and-long-hold triggers the screen customization.

In Settings > Accessibility > Touch and Settings > Display & Brightness, shut off tap to wake, maybe also shut off raise to wake. Type Wake in the Settings search box to get directly to either setting.

That change will reduce the opportunity for the screen to wake before you're ready.
