It is impossible to increase the amount of RAM or internal storage in your iPad - as this is fixed during manufacture; what you have is fixed for the life of your device. You can, however, subscribe to a higher tier of iCloud storage - but this is not a substitute for internal storage.

If your internal storage is full, your only option is to better manage the storage that you have - and delete unused Apps or unneeded data.

External storage options can often help with managing limited internal storage. Depending upon your iPad model, the iPad will either have a Lightning or USB-C port - and may therefore require either an Adapter or USB hub to connect the USB Storage device. 1. Trade in your iPad for one with more storage.
2. Go through and delete stuff you don’t need on your iPad.
3. If you sync to iCloud Photos, go to Settings/Photos and tap Optimize Photos. This will keep full resolution photos in iCloud, but “shrink” photos on your iPad to lower resolution, smaller files.
4. Go to Settings/General/iPad Storage and tap “Offload unused apps"

Those are really the only options.

You cannot add physical storage to an iPad after purchase.

If you are seeing an email on your computer that you are almost out of storage, then it is most likely talking about iCloud storage, not your iPad storage. The computer is not involved other than the fact it has the email associated with your Apple ID to receive the message.
