Apple Watch Fitness not tracking fastest awards such as fastest 5k at all

My watch and phone currently say my fastest 5k run was in April of 2023 and at a total time of 1.5 hours. I’m not entirely sure how but it logged me on an outdoor hike as a watch and now shows that as my fastest 5k. Since then I’ve run a bunch, typically 3-4 times a week for the last 3 months. At no point has it updated my fastest 5k. I get the 5k award all the time but never the fastest. My 5k yesterday was 24’30” which is clearly much faster but again, no updates on my watch or phone.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about this but zero answers on what the issue is or how to fix it.
