Typing backwards in Numbers

I've see previous threads on this, but one of my spreadsheets in Numbers is now entering keystrokes from right to left - i.e in reverse: typing "Reverse" gives you "esreveR". Region is set to US. Keyboard is set to US. MAC OS is Sonoma 14.2.1. Numbers is version 13.2. Spreadsheet was fine, but now is "in reverse" anywhere new that I type. I have tried the recommended key strokes as I understood them, but nothing has worked. I may be misunderstanding them.
