My Apple Watch Ultra 2 has been acting sporadic

My watch went crazy today, flicking between different screens, typing its own texts, I couldn’t stop it or turn it off, had to just wait for battery to go flat to stop.

I have the same issue! The watch went crazy, hopping from app to app. I took it off from my wrist and it looks like some one is trying to guess the password - trying different number combinations.

I’m not able to restart it. It looks like I have to wait until it runs out of battery.

This happened yesterday. I took it off and it was auto trying passcodes. I immediately ran and put it on the charger. It stopped the madness, but I was locked out for 1 minute for all the attempts. Once I got back in, the phone would NOT acknowledge me trying to power it off. It took me about 5 minutes to finally get it to power off. It's been fine since I turned it back on.

I had the same issue, today with my Ultra 2, April 1st. I restarted the watch which seemed to make me wait 5 minutes to put in my passcode. But it did stop cycling through passcodes as it had. After 5 minutes, I was able to enter my passcode, but did notice that my iPhone needed to be updated. So perhaps my phone was suffering from the same issues people faced in early February. I updated both my phone and watch software. Hopefully, that will put an end to this problem.

Had the same issue with my practically new S9 (2 months old). Called support in a panic as it appeared someone was trying to guess my passcode and kept locking me out. I finally got ahold of someone at Apple when it had locked out at over an hour and was advised to unpair the watch from the phone and start over. Fixed the problem, but happened again exactly 2 months later. Waiting to see if it happens again on the 31st of May......

It sounds like my experience diagnosed as a display defect at the apple shop. That is under a 1 year warranty (otherwise 499 USD repair cost) .

A deeper question is: how many display dysfunctions are reported , what is apple doing about it (CAR).

It's more than a nuisance given how dependent we are on these tools ..

Hi, I’m in the UK and have had the same issues with my Ultra2 watch, which was about 5 months old. Following a call to Apple Support, my watch was sent off for “repair” by my local Genius Bar after taking it in. They thought it might be a hardware issue, but it would be down to the technicians at the depot to determine the cause and how it’s resolved. They sent me a non retail boxed replacement watch about 9 days later. I set it up and updated the software to 10:4, The Blood Oxygen feature remains available, (here in the UK). Hope that you get yours sorted out too. More details on my issues are in my previous posts in this thread on the 9th and 18th of April 2024 if that helps. Best regards.

Put Apple Watch on its charger.

Press and hold the side button until you see the screen with the power button in the upper-right corner, then let go of the side button. If your Apple Watch has an earlier version of watchOS, you see the Power Off slider instead of the power button.

Press and hold the Digital Crown until you see the red Reset button.

Tap Reset, then tap Reset again to confirm.

After Apple Watch unpairs completely, you can pair again. Remember that you'll need the Apple ID and password that were used to set up the watch. I recommend you do not restore the backup.

All Apple Watches are replaced when repaired even for a battery change.

Certified? Are you certain? "Suitable for recreational diving no more than 40 metres" was what I understood.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a water resistance rating of 100 metres under ISO standard 22810. It may be used for recreational scuba diving (with compatible third-party app from the App Store) to 40 metres and high-speed water sports. Apple Watch Ultra 2 should not be used for diving below 40 metres. Water resistance is not a permanent condition and can diminish over time. For additional information, see support.apple.com/en-gb/

Only if a watch is tested under ISO 6425 standards conditions and meets them, it has the right to be markedDiver's,” and will show the depth rating in meters. The test is way in advance of iso 22810
