Painful Sore in ear

I have had a sore in my ear for over 8 months now. I thought it was a pimple but come to find out it wasn’t . Nothing come out of it when I try to pop it. Come to find out it’s the friction of the AirPod pros to my ears. It’s extremely painful. I want to downgrade back to the regular AirPods but I don’t know how to go about the process. I had no issues with them. I honestly should’ve saved my money and not updated.

AirPod pro 2 causing pain I just upgraded from AirPod pro (right) to airpod pro 2 (left). The new opening on the airpod 2 pointed out above is causing a lot of ear irritation just above where the airpod sits. It’s rough sharp plastic on both sides (maybe better if smooth not sure) that is causing my ear to feel raw. I wore my original pros for several years without this issue so I’m confident it’s the new design. does anyone have a suggestion to ease this issue aside from trying to smooth the plastic which should have been done at the factory? Any foam tips that may get it away from that part of my ear or similar? Otherwise I’m shopping for new earphones. thanks!
