Quicktime movie viewer application - de-select movie narration track.

I've just begun transferring my DVD movie library to the MacBook Air and Quicktime is the only application for viewing movies. However, Quicktime does not have the controls I'm used to having when viewing a movie on a DVD Player ie; I'd like to de-select the movie narration while the movie is playing and I don't think Quicktime has the control or ability to deselect that narration. Are there other 3rd Party apps for viewing movies that have more controls or am I just not seeing the deselect control button? Thank you.
