iPhone 15 is not giving audible alerts when I'm wearing my iWatch series 3

I read that by design if you are wearing an iWatch and your iPhone is locked, all notifications divert to your watch. Is this true? Also, is there a way to stop that from happening? It happens even when my iPhone is near my watch but I'm not wearing it. I like having audible alerts.

Wrist Detection & Audible Notifications when phone is locked I’m not sure if this is a “perfect storm” of settings or if it was just an oversight, but it is horribly annoying. Why do I have to turn off “Wrist Detection” on my watch in order to get audible notifications when my iPhone is locked? If wrist detection is on, I will not get any audible notifications (from my iPhone or through my headphones (any headphones)) unless my iPhone is unlocked. When my phone is unlocked, I receive audible notifications like I would expect, but the second it is locked, they’re gone. I do not have ‘do not disturb’ on or any other ‘focus profiles’ turned on during this issue. Is there something else that I’m missing or does it all boil down to the Apple Watch and the “wrist detection” setting?

No notification alert on phone when wearing watch I recently brought an Apple Watch and have realised that you can’t get a sound notification on BOTH your phone and your watch and it’s driving me mad! I know you can turn off wrist detection but you then lose out on so many features. Does anyone know if apple are going to sort this anytime soon please? It’s such an awful decision on their part to not give users the choice!!

Can I get my Apple Watch to still send me notifications when I am on my iPhone? Hello, I want my watch to still send me notifications when I’m on my iPhone. And also I want my iPhone to still make noise for notifications when I’m wearing my watch. Now my iPhone doesn't make a sound when a message comes in, only my watch alerts me. Is this possible?
