YouTube getting around Parental lock! How?

I have screen time and locks on my childs phone, yet late at night, only 1 app (and a game) is not greyed out with the timer, it's YouTube.

a) Why is this?

and b) how do I lock it with all other apps?

Downtime and App Limits are independent features within the iPhone Screen Time settings. You can use them separately or together, depending on your preferences and needs.

  • Downtime:
    • Downtime is a feature in Screen Time that allows you to schedule specific periods during which only essential apps and phone calls are accessible on your device.
    • During Downtime, only apps that you choose to allow and phone calls are available. Other apps and notifications are restricted.
    • This feature is often used to help individuals establish healthier screen time habits, especially during specific times like bedtime or family time.
    • Enabling Downtime doesn't automatically set time limits for specific apps or app categories.
    • Downtime focuses on creating a window of time during which only essential apps and phone calls are available, helping users take a break from excessive screen time.
  • App Limits:
    • App Limits allow you to set specific time limits for particular app categories or individual apps.
    • You can allocate a certain amount of time per day for specific app categories, such as social media or games.
    • When the allotted time is reached, the app or app category is blocked for the rest of the day.
    • App Limits allow you to set specific time constraints for individual apps or app categories.
    • These limits are independent of Downtime and can be customized based on the amount of time you want to allocate to each app or category daily.

If you have both features configured, the restrictions imposed by Downtime and App Limits may overlap during the scheduled Downtime. For example, if you set an App Limit for a specific app and it's also within a Downtime period, access to that app will be restricted.

To configure Downtime and App Limits, you can go to your iPhone's Settings app, select "Screen Time," and then navigate to the respective sections for Downtime and App Limits.
