So, I've recently gotten a 2014 Mac Mini, It arrived today, I plugged everything in correctly however, when I press the power button, it plays the startup chime, the fans start to spin, however, nothing shows up on my monitor (Samsung SyncMaster S22B300) I'm hoping you can help.
Earlier Mac models
HDMI doesn't easily convert into analog VGA.
You need to get and use a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter and plug a VGA cable into it.
Another option to get you going, is to connect an HDMI TV up to the 2014 Mac mini.
What cable connection are you using...?
The 2014 offers two video output sources.
One sources is the HDMI port, the other source is the ThunderBolt/Mini DisplayPort using an adapter.

Can you try another monitor?
hdmi to vga (and probably miniDisplay to vga) will crop the image, and guess what else it can do…. If you could try it on a monitor with HDMI, probably best test you could do to insure it’s not the mac in the first place
So, my monitor arrived today, and, it's now working perfectly.
I'm using HDMI and then an HDMI to VGA adapter as my monitor is VGA only
Ah okay, well, I've bought a new monitor (As I did need one anyway) so hopefully that'll fix the issue.
Yeah' VGA is pre-historic tech.
