New Mac Studio Max M2 doesn't recognize wired Apple keyboard

I'm trying to set up my new Mac Studio. I have an Apple KB from my 2012 Mac Pro plugged in a USB port. I also have a Logictech USB wireless mouse with the USB dongle plugged into the Apple KB. This works fine with the Mac Pro.

However, when these are plugged into the Mac Studio, and I power it up, I get the KB and Mouse graphic on the screen and no response from either the KB or Mouse. Do I have to use wireless USB KB and Mouse for this setup? I don't recall reading anything like that.
