Multiple Lines Across my Screen

My MacBook Pro just developed horizontal lines that cut across all displays on the screen. The device was on charge over the night when this happened.

It appears as if the screen has expired. Is there remedy?

Horizontal lines typically would point to hardware issue— GPU / screen buffer / or display-generator .

Plug in an external monitor and compare your results or take a screen shot and see if the lines are captured on the image— Screenshot come directly from the GPU.

There are 60 MacBook Pro models since 2006— "many" have more than one GPU. Besides external monitor, apps that demand the Discreet GPU like Photos.app may show no issue.

By default, the built-in display alone uses only the Integrated GPU

for hardware issues, take it in—

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
