Received emails have capitalized username on iPhone

Why is the first part (username?) of my email address capitalized when I receive emails on my iPhone? I'm attaching two screenshots to clarify. Not sure what other info you require to figure out how to fix this, but here some more details:

  • It only happens on my iPhone - not on my laptop (PC / Outlook)
  • It only happens with one specific email address (I have several accounts/domains with the same email provider)
  • Not sure when it started, but probably since a few months, and I have a new phone (iPhone SE 3 Gen). Possibly, it could have started with the new phone - not sure.
  • I've tried deleting the account and re-installing it, but to no avail

What else do you suggest? I've seen posts about this issue, but they seem to all be from like 2012 and I couldn't find a fix.

Thanks!

iPhone SE (3rd generation)

If the issue persists, it might be beneficial to reach out to your email provider's support. They can check if there are any specific settings or configurations that need adjustment on their end.

Your email address might be saved in your iPhone contacts with a capitalized first name. Check your contacts and ensure it's saved in lowercase, as email addresses are case-insensitive.

Unlike some Android devices, contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you have Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo, or any Other

If you have a corporate email account added through a profile on your device, please check with your organization's system administrator.

Thanks for your prompt answer SravanKrA. Nope, I don't have my email address saved in my contacts, and I don't have a corporate account. In fact, I don't even see the switch for Default Account that you're referring to (see screenshot) but maybe that's linked to having a corporate account?

I will contact our email provider, even though it seems to ME like an Apple/iPhone issue, as I should otherwise have the same issue also on my laptop. Anyways, it's worth a try I guess. Will revert here with their response and hopefully I'll find more suggestions here by then ;-)
