Can we get a PROPER Hungarian keyboard on iPadOS?
As reported on this old thread, Apple's supposedly Hungarian keyboards on the iPad are anything but.
They look like any old English keyboard, with no special characters included at all.
Trying to preempt non-answers (like Tom Gewecke's patronizing attempts on the cited thread) that miss the point completely, I'd note that using the "Press and Hold method" special characters can be typed on ANY keyboard. The whole point of a national, and in our case Hungarian, layout is to speed up character entry by including special characters from the languague directly.
Clearly, other apps (like Keyman, or the standard keyboard on Android) can make space for those.
WHY cannot Apple's own built-in options?
Yes, Hungarian may be a bit special with 9 special characters, but including only the short version of short-long pairs, i.e. only 4 specials (á, é, ö, and ü) instead of all 9, would go a long way towards better usability. And, other national layouts seem to have been granted similar privileges already. The Swedish keyboard, for instance, includes their 3 special characters (å, ä, ö). We need only 1 more!!!
