Format Date does not work in Shortcuts

I am trying to make an automation that disables always on display if it's charging and if it's between midnight and 8am. However, it seems that the format date option is not working. I tried breaking down the program to find the problem and it seems the actual format date is the culprit. As you can see in the following photos, I am just trying to convert the date to only get the hour, but even that causes the program to crash.
