Why can't I set MY OWN music in Photos Memories (or just turn it off)?
Older versions of iOS allowed users to choose their own music for Memories. Now, I get pre-selected music from Apple Music and cannot even choose my own music from my own library.
So now my choices are to either put up with music that I don't like or consider appropriate or desirable when I'm watching Memories or I have to spend my time going through selections that somebody else thought would be "desirable" for me, looking for something that I can put up with. All this when I have thousands of tunes, playlists and soundtracks THAT I LIKE and would have added to MY OWN Memories, if Apple weren't so determined to shove Apple Music down my throat.
I don't even get the privilege of turning off music entirely; I am forced into the distasteful dilemma above if I want to view Memories at all.
This approach is so Microsoft: "We know what is good for you (and is also, incidentally, something we own, control and can monetize) and that's what you can choose. And, incidentally, we know what music goes best with your memories."
The company that once stood for "Think Different" is now, in this respect, the company of "you can do anything you want to do ... as long as it's what we want you to do".
So much for Memories ... I just won't view them, since Apple has seen fit to take what little creative joy and user-control there was out of them.
