My Apple Watch isn’t sending text messages

My watch has been sending & receiving OK until recently. It still receives text message but fails to send. I have made sure SMS messages is on in my phone settings and tried cycling messaging off/on in phone settings but still no success.

I’m having a similar problem with my watch. It will send messages to other Apple users, however it will not send to non apple phones. Another crude way to put it, if I use my watch to text and the bubbles are green, I’m getting send failures. If the bubbles are blue, the messages will go through.
