How do i get proof of purchase if I wasn’t the original buyer

I bought an iPad 12.9 inch 6 generation off of facebook market place. I want to get AppleCare for it but the 60 days time period has already passed. But the person only used it for 4 hours and never used it ever since. I did realize until after I’ve bought it from them, how long he had it. I am not able to get in contact with them anymore. I tried talk to apple support and they said that i need the purchase receipt to proof the purchase. How do i get that if I can’t contact the original owner? Can someone help me please.

The sales receipt is given to the original purchaser only. Only this person can give it to you, and even then there is no obligation on his part to give it to you.
Buying second-hand Apple hardware has risks. You didn't mention if the iPad is still signed into the previous owner's iCloud account. If so, read this: The All Too Common SAD Reality of Buying a Used iPad/iPhone
AppleCare+ for iPad is available for up to 60 days after a purchase. As you indicated, this period has expired. AppleCare+ is no longer available for this unit.

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase then you might be able to get in touch with the online marketplace from which you bought it with a view of return and refund.
