iMessage does not send photos, only texts across Mac, iPad, and iPhone

I open my Photos and select a picture to send through iMessage. If I send just a photo the message goes through and says “Delivered” on the recipient screen, but no photo appears. If I send a text with no photo it goes through and is received as normal.

That's it! Both my iPhone 11 (iOS 17.3) and third generation iPad (also iOS 17.3) don't have the capability to receive RAW through iMessage, but they both accepted/displayed the JPEG photos. My iMac 2019 27 inch (updated to Sonoma) had no trouble with the RAW photos.

Thank you!

Are you sending the photos to an iPhone or Android user? if the latter report the issue to your phone carrier as MMS is their feature.
