How long does it take for an in-store refund to show in my Apple Pay?

I purchased an item online using Apple Pay. I returned the item 3 days ago in-store and got a refund going back to my original form of payment (Apple Pay and then of course my actual credit card). However, the refund isn’t showing on neither Apple Pay nor my credit card! Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Apple is not a bank and is not involved in the transfer of funds. Apple Pay just securely transmits the data between merchant and bank. The funds will be directly transferred from merchant to bank (credit card.)

Refunds generally take 5 to 7 business days. Occasionally, quicker and on occasion longer. In my experience the delay is usually on the part of the merchant.
