AirPort installed on MacBook Air

Recently discovered AirPort Utility installed on MacBook Air via System Reports. Called Apple Support and

they verified. They also made me an appointment tomorrow to have it uninstalled, if possible. If not, they should be able to tell me what I can do. I would like to know so many things; like how can I find out where all those packets are going every day? What do I need to worry about as far as my personal information...all my personal information is concerned? Are there steps other than the ones that are obvious I should take? I understand that AirPort was discontinued a while back and am not wanting to hold Apple nor anyone else accountable for this happening, that's on me. But it was like pulling teeth getting any information. Actually I got nothing other than the appointment to see about having it uninstalled. I don't even know if this is possible. Any link, website, anything where I might get some insight on this would be greatly appreciated. I read that I could remove the AirPort card myself. But don't know what that would actually do to my laptop.

Airport Utility is installed by the operating system, just as it has been for well over a decade. Only useful if you are using an Apple network device (e.g. AirPort Extreme Base Station, AirPort Express, or Time Capsule).

As this utility is part of the operating system, your "Apple Support" entity should know better about not removing it from the operating system which likely will not allow it. At only 22 MB in size, just ignore it. There is also an operating system daemon running by the name of /usr/libexec/airportd which manages the wireless interfaces with the built-in AirPort Wi-Fi radio in your MacBook Air.

You are correct and I apologize for my wording. There is a base station, there is a bridge. Which I found...did not have anything to do with it being on my laptop. I cannot get into the base station because I do not have the config. Even if I did, everything to do with AirPort is grayed out. The person I spoke with had me click on where she asked me to and she saw what I just explained to you and said nothing. In a few seconds though is when I had an appointment to have it checked out. I don't understand why I'm going all the way to get this done becasue I've read that it's inside my MacBook. Part of it. AirPortBrcm4360_logs-001.txt is in files related to the Network

There are daily files, too many to list. There are packets sent. I'm no longer in control of anything. Ran EtreCheck and there is where I found there were other profiles on my Mac. Since then, I've tried to find out all I can until I found the packets being sent. That scared me. The person I spoke with at Apple Support told me she would schedule me an appointment. I asked if I was going there to have airport uninstalled and she said "they can do that and they also can erase your MacBook and restore it". I thought I could do that. If nothing else, I appreciate your answer because it did answer one of my questions.
