iPhone's connection to Internet reports ’weak security’

Hi, I think this website may give some good steps on how to make sure that your router is using the latest security settings that it's capable of. You can always call your ISP for assistance with changing the settings. If you have a much older router, you might want to upgrade the router, itself, with your ISP.

No. That is low security now, which is why you are getting the message.

If your router supports it, change it to "WPA3 Personal" or "WPA2/WPA3 Transitional" as suggested by Bob.

Check your Wi-Fi router's security settings. You want to use WPA3 or WPA3 / WPA 2 Transitional security.

If your Wi-Fi router was delivered to you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), ask the support folks there about how to check and adjust the security settings on the router.

My settings say WPA/WPA2(TKIP)? Is this okay?

No. This setting is 7-8 years out of date.

At a minimum, look for a setting of WPA2 Personal, also known as WPA2-PSK-AES

If your Wi-Fi router was delivered to you by your ISP, ask their customer support for instructions on how to change the settings on the router.

But....most routers are delivered with the highest security that they can deliver, so if this is the case for your router......frankly you need a new Wi-Fi router.

Get with your ISP so they can send you a Wi-Fi router with up to date security settings.

The point is that they may need to change their security settings for their router. That's the idea here. Again, I don't appreciate being accused of using AI, when I did not and do not.

Its not that hard. Its just selecting from a drop down the security setting you want.

But you'll you'll either need to get into the router's configuration panel (website) or contact your ISP if they provided the WiFi router and have them tell you how to upgrade the security setting if its at all possible, or for them to do it themselves.

If you don't want to be perceived as using AI, try to stop sounding like you are. Don't give generic answers to specific question. Be precise in your use of terminology and language. Ask clarifying questions of the OP before posting a long set of general instructions. Read other people's replies and take the into consideration when crafting your own. Consider that when people suggest you may be wrong, that you may actually be wrong. In other words, if you're not a duck, don't quack like one.

Susan, you need to find a better AI to copy from. Most of what you pasted is wrong or useless.
