Is it possible to add text drop shadow in titles or captions in iMovie?

I've added several minutes of captions to my movie and realize there are sections where the text is hard to read. Is there a way to add text elements like drop shadow or something else to set it out from the background image? I may need to start over entirely and create the captions in one of the background titles, but I would prefer to simply add background "fill" or tweak to the text only (not the text over a solid bottom background strip). I don't see a way to do so, but I've only just started with this iMovie (10.4) and I might be missing something.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

iMovie titles are not very customizable. Some of the fonts have a slight drop shadow, but not very noticeable.

You might be able to achieve the result that you want with the Soft Bar White or Gradient White titles.

Or, you could use the title controls to vary the color of the caption slightly so that it shows up better over certain backgrounds.

Or, you could try the Keynote app on your Mac to create a title transparency with the drop shadow effect:

The above screen shot is a white text over a white background, but with a shadow effect so that you can read it.
