If you're experiencing issues with deleted emails reappearing in the Mail app on your iMac, there are a few possible reasons and solutions you can try:

1. Mail Syncing Issues:

- Sometimes, deleted emails may reappear due to syncing issues with the mail server. Try manually syncing your email account by going to Mail > Mailbox > Synchronize or clicking on the "Get Mail" button in the Mail toolbar.

2. Check Mail Settings:

- Verify your Mail settings to ensure that deleted emails are not being archived or moved to another folder instead of being permanently deleted. Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts, select your email account, and review the settings for deleting messages.

3. Rebuild Mailbox:

- Rebuilding your mailbox can sometimes resolve issues with deleted emails reappearing. To rebuild a mailbox in Mail, select the mailbox in the sidebar, then go to Mailbox > Rebuild.

4. Check Server Settings:

- Review the settings for your email account to ensure that they are configured correctly. If your email account is set up as IMAP, changes made in the Mail app can sync with the server, potentially causing deleted emails to reappear. You may need to adjust the settings on the server side or contact your email service provider for assistance.

5. Delete Mail Preferences:

- Deleting Mail preferences files can sometimes resolve issues with Mail app behavior. Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/ and locate the com.apple.mail.plist file. Move this file to the desktop (or another location) and restart the Mail app. This will reset Mail preferences to default settings.

6. Update macOS and Mail App:

- Ensure that your iMac is running the latest version of macOS and that the Mail app is up to date. Software updates can include bug fixes and improvements that may address issues with Mail behavior.

7. Contact Email Service Provider:

- If the issue persists, contact your email service provider's support team for assistance. They may be able to provide insights or troubleshooting steps specific to your email account setup.

If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Apple Support or visiting an Apple Store for further assistance. They can provide additional guidance and help diagnose any underlying issues with the Mail app on your iMac.
