Apple SE GPS Alum 1st gen no longer holding a charge since latest update

Ever since the latest update my watch no longer holds a charge. I have nothing going on in the background, have very limited apps, nothing extra that I can see that would drain the battery so fast. I charge it in full overnight, use it to get up at 530 but by 300, the battery is almost dead. I'm doing a few workouts (maybe) but no other heavy usage. Under "settings," under "battery", it does say "Service recommended". Any ideas?

Thanks!

The message stating “Service recommended” indicates that it is time for your battery to be replaced. The update is likely just coincidence. If your battery had never been replaced it’s not surprising that you would be at that point now. What does your battery health percentage show? At any rate, if Apple still does battery replacements on the SE 1st gen you should have it inspected and decide from there if you want to replace the battery or if you want to upgrade to a newer watch
