Update OSX on my Mac Mini late 2014, from Big Sur to Monterey

My Mac Mini late 2014 which uses a 2.12 TB Fusion Drive drive and everything is backed up using Time Machine. Some software is now reporting that the operating system either won’t support the designed version or that it won’t even run properly or at all in Big Sur 11.7.10.  I seem to remember a lot of issues with Monterey when it first came out, so I left it alone, especially that the computer is likely to slow down drastically. I use iCloud for some storage which works just fine.  My question is, can I update the OS to either Monterey or even Ventura?

If so what are the issues that I am likely to encounter?

A 2014 Mac mini can be upgrade to Monterey but no later than that. See the following from Identify your Mac mini model - Apple Support

Mac mini (Late 2014)

Model Identifier: Macmini7,1

Part Numbers: MGEM2xx/A, MGEN2xx/A, MGEQ2xx/A

Newest compatible operating system: macOS Monterey

To upgrade, be sure to have a backup (advisable at all times even if not upgrading) and see instructions in How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

You aren't likely to encounter any issues.
