Using Apple Pay On Apple Watch

Why do I have to use a passcode to unlock my Watch just to use ApplePay? Why didn’t Apple just fix it to where in order to use ApplePay you just simply have to use a passcode with that app?

Can't use apple wallet on my Apple Watch Ultra 2. It's impossible to turn access code on or off in settings. It's not a companies watch, and not company iPhone. Though I've 2 simcards in my phone. Apple watch is not connected to a mobile provider Apple Watch Ultra 2 WatchOS 10.0.1 iphone mini 12 iOS: 17.0.1 Dual sim Both T-mobile (Odido) iPhone Not a companies mobile. No provider connected to the watch The option to set an access code (turn on/off) is greyed out Option of wear detection is only option which can be turned on/off in the security setting screen of the access code Please help I wish to use card payments with this watch. That was no problem with my Apple Watch Ultra (1) and now it is with my Apple Watch Ultra 2.

It’s a security feature to prevent unauthorized access to your Wallet app.

Thank you, Jeff Donald I do realize that it is a security feature, but they should’ve implemented it into the wallet itself, and not into the entire watch! What I mean by that is when you go to pay with your Apple wallet, you unlock it with your security code! that’s all I’m saying, but thank you very much for your reply and it does help!
