Why are some tracks on Hi-Res lossless albums playing only at lossless bit rates?

I just got a new DAC and was excited to try out Hi-Res lossless audio. I out on Adele’s 25 album, which is labeled in Apple Music as Hi-Res Audio. But only some of the tracks on the album are actually playing at 96kHz. Lots of the songs are only playing at 48kHz.

Finding new hi-res lossless tracks? Hi There was a great fanfare by apple when hi-res lossless came out, but since then i don’t see many existing lossless tracks being upgraded. Some new albums come out in hi-res lossless (although the majority are just lossless), but it seems that the few artists who were hi-res lossless at the launch of the format a couple of years ago are still the only ones. I might be mistaken, but it’s hard to tell as there doesn’t seem to be any way to search for just hi-res lossless results (please someone correct me if i’m wrong there!). I also subscribe to tidal, and they certainly seem to release more tracks in their high resolution (MQA) format. I can’t find any news or indications by apple that the music catalog is being “hi-res’d” anytime soon, does anyone expect the lossless audio tracks to be upgraded to hi-res lossless anytime?

Lossless on Apple music I have songs downloaded in high quality, but set streaming quality to lossless. But these songs play in the downloaded quality even with an internet connection. Any way to fix this? Songs I haven't downloaded stream in lossless without a problem
