iOS Podcasts play episode twice when using queue

Reopening Podcast episodes keep repeating once they… - Apple Community

On iOS (17.4 now, but it’s not a new issue; now iPhone 15 Pro, it happened before with 12 Pro) Podcasts (yes, always latest version) if you add few episodes to the queue, episode is played twice.

This does not happen every time episode ends, especially when you try to reproduce issue by fast forwarding to nearly end of episode, next one will be next from queue and not repeat of current one. It doesn’t occur on regular „play all” mode, but I often listen to old episodes in chronological order and want to stick with one show.

I think it happens most, when I resume listening mid-episode after some delay, which could mean that there’s sync issue.

It’s also not the case of accidentally adding episode to queue twice, UI never shown me that next episode would be the same.

For background - I do have several other iDevices that sync Podcasts including Apple Watch and TV. All are on same version of OS and the issue happens whether they are in same local network or not. Additionally, I tend to listen on 1.5x speed.

Due to nature of bug, I can’t just record screen as a proof :(

If Apple for years haven’t solved it, I hope that at least community could help me eliminate some factors that triggers it.
