My Mail account is offline and will NOT go back online. What can I do?

This problem is only on the Mail app on our MacBook Air. We can get our gmail on our iPhones and iPad.

I have four email accounts three of them are online and I cannot get the fourth one to go online I have one yahoo account that is online and working. I have one Gmail account online and working my school email which is operated by Gmail will not go online no matter how much troubleshooting or deleting I have done. I have had this work email for three years and never had this issue before.

Gmail account stuck offline. Can’t figure out how to get it back online. I use several gmail accounts and open them in the Mac mail app. One of these accounts has gone offline. I can’t figure out how to get it back online. The other gmail accounts are fine.
