Refurbished iPhone 12 displaying locked to owner and unable to activate.

My refurbished iPhone 12 is displaying locked to owner and unable to activate. It's not locked to the previous owner, it's locked to my email address.

This is what it looks like for me: https://youtu.be/E2kJ3104e3E

The problems started when I tried to put my sim into the phone. It then said mobile could not be activated and that an update would fix it. This being an ios 17.3 update I believe. I tried to update it and it froze the phone saying verifying update. I then force shutdown the phone using the volume button and side button method. Once it was back to normal I tried to update it once again. It said I would need to do the itunes restore and this is where it all went wrong. It was restoring but then it said something failed and it then brought me to this.

By the way I also tried fixing it by deleting that phone from my apple id which apparently is a method to fix this. It didn't work and still displays the same thing.

Any ideas?

Apple ID and Activation Lock

iCloud uses Apple ID credentials.

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their Apple ID.
