How to fix AirPlay no sound issue

Video has sound on the iPhone but when I use airplay no audio comes through. The TV is not muted.

It may depend on the source of that video. In some cases, the source could be restricted from streaming. This would result in either or both loss of audio/video.

To test this, do you have a local copy of a video on your iPhone? If so, see if you can successfully stream it to your Smart TV.

If you can, try another Internet source for videos to try out.

The TV is a Vizio SmartTV and the iPhone has the latest OS. I started a video on the iPhone and chose AirPlay. The TV let me sign into airplay and began to stream the video but there was no sound. Neither the TV nor the iPhone were muted.
