iPad problems with keyboards.

I have been having a rash of problems using keyboards with my iPad Pro (Gen2, 12.9). It has been only recently – I used the smart keyboard years ago (and, since finding a source online to get a couple more, I am doing it again) and I was up to recently using a LogiTech K380 without problems.

The issue began with blue or yellow borders appearing around input windows, or similarly-colored mask over the input area; this appears to have been happening when I would use an arrow key. In these situations, I would be unable to enter information and the arrow keys (or, occasionally, the space bar) would seem to mimic the action of the TAB key in switching between functions on the screen. From time to time, I would be unable to input from the keyboard until entering a single character and then deleting it. The borders and masks would then appear and disappear at random.

This began to happen during the last month or two. At first I was convinced that it was my K380 no longer interacting properly with a recent update to iPad OS. However, it is still happening while I am using the Apple Smart Keyboard.

The behavior has become more of a nuisance than a worry, and I have been able to work around it. However, the fact that Smart Keyboards are also having this problem has me wondering if there was something in the last update that needs to be checked on for potential to cause this issue.

Anyone else experiencing this confusing constellation?
