Files app struck due to a PDF file

I tried to open a large PDF file and my files app got struck. I am unable to close the PDF and even up on closing & re opening the app, Files app is struck on the same PDF. I tried after restarting the device too, no luck

iPad: Unable to open or attaching files from files-app to non Apple apps Hi! I have problems open or attaching files from the files-app to non Apple apps. Let’s say I want to upload a document to ChatGPT, or open a PDF in Acrobat or adding a file for listening in Speecify, I can’t open it. Doing the same on my iPhone works perfectly. The behaviour is somewhat different depending on the app i try. ChatGPT gives an error message, so does Acrobat reader but Speecify you just can’t click on the file to open. Nothing happens. I´m not sure when the problem started so I can’t relate it to any specific situation. I know I was furious with the new preview-app on my iPhone and uninstalled it both on my iPhone and iPad. My iPhone still works perfectly in all ways. When I check the settings for the files-app it looks odd. See attached picture. I have checked and toggled permissions in settings. I have the latest version of iPad OS and have had one major update from the problem first presented it self. Got 26.1 now and hade the previous version before with the same problem. Tried rebooting and “hard rebooting”. Tried uninstalling the files-app and reinstalling it. I would like to solve this without reinstalling my iPad completely. Best regards, /Martin

Tiny PDF app fails to open after updating iPad to iPadOS 26.0.1 i have an older app called tiny pdf sometimes it will open and most times wont ever since installing 26.0.1 the app is no longer available and no updates availa. I select the app icon and goes right back to the Home Screen without opening [Edited by Moderator]

I found the solution,

Open Email app and try adding attachments. From there you can delete the PDF that’s causing this issue
Go to General - iPhone storage - On My iPhone - Bin
You will find Bin option at the end, delete the PDF that you recently deleted

Deleting the PDF from the files and the bin solved the issue for me
