iPad hardware keyboard arrow keys not working

Hi everyone,

I‘m on an iPad of the 9th generation on iPadOS 17.3 and I am using a bluetooth keyboard which works mostly fine, except for the arrow keys. Up and down behave as changing the volume and left and right act as the home button. This is really frustrating because I usually don‘t use Apple devices and I heard many people say that Apple devices don‘t work well with third party software and hardware, but I was willing to give Apple a shot and I have been let down so far. The keyboard works with every other device I own (I tried it with Android, with Linux, with Windows and with SteamOS) and so far iOS is the only OS not supporting it. Most of the special characters work fine, it‘s just really irritating that out of all things not working, it‘s the arrow keys. I tried changing the layout, changing the keyboard type to ANSI, ISO and JIS but nothing I did helped. I would appreciate any help, this is just sad at this point after seeing all of the controllers I own not working with the iPad, after buying an Apple Pencil for a lot of money, only for the metal ring to fall off some months later and after seeing the device crash and lag even when doing simple tasks like typing in OneNote. If I can‘t get the keyboard working, I will probably switch back to my phone for work because even though the screen way smaller, it works a lot smoother and supports everything I need for only half the price. But I want to use this iPad, it would make things so much easier if it worked. So I appreciate any help.
