Making messages background blur

Okay, so you know when you touch and hold a message, it highlights that one message and the background blurs? My background just goes dark grey or dark blue. I would really like the blur because it’s kinda confusing me..

BLUR MESSAGES ON MESSENGER When I long press the specific text message on messenger the background isn't blurring but when I saw my friend's stories when they long press a single text message the other messages were blurred how can I apply that on my phone I tried uninstalling the app and its still doesn't work

Settings > Display and Brightness > Light
