error 404, website not found, also when logging into different accounts, page refreshes and loggin data lost

iphone 12 version 17.3.1 updated today

When using Safari, I get error code 404 when searching with Google. When attempting to log into online accounts, loggin page appears, but refreshes as I am entering loggin information.

These websites work with other devices. I used both home wifi and cellular data and got same results. I used Aloha on this device and it works.

Problem appears to be Safari connected.

Thank you. You were correct. I discovered an Anti-virus app was running (webroot). Once turned off, problem resolved.

Not sure why, all of a sudden the problem arose, since Webroot was installed many months ago.

Again, I thank you for your help

The phrasing of your reply is ambiguous.

No VPN installed, or no VPN in use? If there is a VPN app installed, remove it.

The Safari pop-up blocker is unrelated to an ad-blocker app. If you have an ad-blocker extension, remove the ad blocker app.

Any other add-on security apps or service or filters installed?

Once those have all been removed, test again.

Here's what I've done so far.

Cleared cache and cookies, and all history no effect

Hard reset of iphone (turn off, wait, turn on) no effect

Installed Google Chrome and set as default browser everything appears to be working fine.

This is obviously just a work around and would prefer to have Safari function properly.
