Installing a SanDisk USB Flashdrive for extra image storage

Purchased 256 drive from Applestore. Plugged it in. Install software is going nowhere - a million options and none of them make sense. Chose the "Drivers" options -download for MacOS and it takes you to "How to Install WD Drivers for Windows and macOS for External Drives" when you click that you get instructions for Windows talking about "Device Manager"

WTH? Just need additional storage for managing images for a temporary project. Make it easy please!

You do not need to download any drivers to use that USB drive with the Mac.

But, you must format the device for use with the Mac.

For guidance, please see:

Erase and reformat a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Open Disk Utility and reformat the SanDisk USB drive.

Click View > Show All Devices, then select the SanDisk external device.

Click Format and select the APFS format with GUID partition scheme. Name the drive whatever you like.
