Confirmed! iPhone13,1_17.4.1_21E237_Restore. Works. Search IPSW (me worked) download. Instructions.

macOS

  1. Plug your iPhone 12 mini in to your Mac.
  2. Navigate to your iPhone 12 mini in Finder.
  3. Hold the Option or Alt key on your keyboard, and press "Restore".
  4. Select the iPhone13,1_17.4.1_21E237_Restore.ipsw file that you downloaded.
  5. Wait for the restore to complete, and the iPhone 12 mini to reboot.

A donation was made to the ipsw site maintainer. Good instructions. Thx.

hi everyone, I had the same problem today while I was updating my iPhone 12 via Mac.

At the apple store, they clearly said that it may be because there is a hardware problem that the previous firmware didn't detect so the new 17.4 automatically sends the phone into lockdown (recovery mode). They asked me 400+ € for the fixing but it seems absurd that I have to pay for something they caused without giving me the slightest chance to downgrade to the previous software.

Could you boys send me the log of the restore? I wanna compare with mine.

On mine, I receive some errors that swear a baseband fault. But here comes the surprise.

First, I tried to update to 17.4 at my work, same error, 06A6.FFFF (baseband fault), well, at my home i flashed 17.3 and then all worked perfectly (baseband too), but when I insisted on 17.4 via DFU mode and then I got stucked at 17.4 with a broken phone.

As I said, software fault.

Yes! On a iPhone SE 2020. Worked perfectly on iOS 17.3 until I tried to update to iOS 17.4 and i received a error via OTA, then i tried on iTunes, 06A6.FFFF. The iOS 17.4 won't ever be installed wherever I try.

Where I got ****** myself? When I tried to update via DFU Mode. I received the same error, but now even on iOS 17.3, 06A6.FFFF. In other words? Full bricked phone.

Same here. iPad Air 4 worked perfectly until I tried to update to iPadOS 17.4 via a brand new MacBook Pro. At the very end of the update process it threw an error and would not start. Now attempting to restore it goes through the whole process, verifies the software and at the very end:

The iPad “iPad” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1). 06A6.FFFF

The local Apple Authorized Repairer says it is hosed and I need to buy a new one. I'm pretty mad, I feel strongly that the OS update caused this and it isn't a hardware fault.

Hello everyone, I'm in the same situation since 3 days ago. My device is an iphone 11 Pro Max; it was working perfectly fine on iOS 17.3.1.

I tried to update to iOS 17.4 on MacBook Pro M3 Pro with MacOS Sonoma 14.4 and it was exactly the same. After several attempts with 3 different cables (between USB-A and USB-C) and 2 different MacBook Pro's; I still get the same error.

It is inexplicable and unacceptable that Apple stands idly by when it is an error of this version of iOS 17.4 software.

I hope they solve this situation as soon as possible because in my case, I'm losing a lot of time and money. We can't even downgrade to the previous version and even with the beta version of iOS 17.4 I can't solve it.

My iphone is totally locked in DFU mode.
