Why won't iTunes connect to my Apple TV via AirPlay?

I'm running iTunes (v12.10.6.2) on Windows 10. When I click the AirPlay icon and select my Apple TV, I get this message:


The AirPlay device "Living Room" cannot be selected for audio output. The AirPlay device is not compatible with the current AirPlay playback configuration.


I don't see anyplace within iTunes where AirPlay playback can be configured.

I updated iTunes to version 12.13.1.3. It works now. It is nevertheless bothersome that it would cease to work in the first place. The error message could have directed me to a more recent version rather turned this into a guessing game.
