iPhone goes black while uploading photos to laptop

I was attempting to upload photos from my iPhone to my laptop when the phone screen went black. I unplugged and tried

to reboot and the phone looked like it was starting up but then the screen went black with a white depiction of a cord, as if indicating I should plug it back in. I did but nothing happened.

iPhone 5s, iOS 12

It appears that you must have seen the Restore iPhone screen which looks like a cord plugged into a computer. If this is what you see then follow the isntructions in this guide published by Apple 👉 If the Restore screen appears on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch If this is not what you see on the screen, then let us know with more details. Thanks.
