Recovery key is inaccessible due to the photo I took of it being uploaded to iCloud.

Recovery key was placed on my account without me doing so,I know this because I received and email months after being locked out of account that the recovery key was changed which means my account was compromised by a 3rd party app I shouldn’t have trusted, and my trusted device phone number was lost due to a porting issue with t-Mobil and is no longer in service. Apple claims I’m out of luck however I find it disturbing and very odd that a multi billion dollar company who relies on customers hasn’t addressed this issue nor seems to care because “they gave notice this would be the case”, however this was not my doing. Does Apple ever plan on addressing this or so we all have to figure out how to file a class action due to confidential info such as medical records and private items being stolen with no support from the Apple company. ?

When you create a recovery key, Apple can no longer reset your account. It’s impossible as they would need to know your 28-digit key. No app can access the key or create one, that’s impossible (unless you have jailbroken your device). There is no issue to address, you are indeed out of luck unless you have another trusted device still logged into iCloud through which you can generate a new key.

thank you for your feedback, the device unfortunately is jailbroken which I discovered after the fact. I was using a couple of cloud storage apps which may not have been legitimate. I only have a picture of a prior recovery key in my cloud which I obviously can’t accesses and I had since turned off to avoid this issue. My trusted device is a very old 2nd gen iPad which cannot be updated and has been removed from the trusted device list so the verification code it populate is not recognized by apples server as the correct code being sent to my old trusted phone number. Thank you for you feed back however.
