Hello community, my MacBook Pro speakers have recently started to intermittently 'crackle' - on all software I use, from Safari to Music & FaceTime. When I connect my bluetooth headphones, there's no problem. Is there a hardware diagnostic tool I can run to check if this could be a hardware or software issue?

For anyone else with this issue - It was resolved simply by upgrading my MacOS to the latest version! (From 12.7.2 to 12.7.3 )
I only upgraded my OS as standard procedure before going into SafeMode OR reseting my NVRAM... but in the end, I didn't have to do either of those actions- the update fixed the problem.
Perhaps this was a known sound card bug fixed in the update?
(the only notes I could find about this update were 'This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users.'
